Role overview:

‍

The Technical Program Manager (TPM) is responsible for the management of contracted research & development projects. The TPM will deliver the highest quality products on schedule and within budget. They will work closely alongside the PMO to drive the integration & development of complex Air Vehicle hardware & software and monitor overall project progress.

Responsibilities

‍

• Create, maintain, and communicate the budget, schedule, & product development activities to all stakeholders

• Work collaboratively with Engineering, Integrated Operations, Test & Certification, and PMO on all stages of the project: Requirements & concept development, engineering integration & design, manufacturing, testing, qualification, certification & transition to production

• Support Supply Chain with management of external suppliers

• Generate and maintain inputs to the integrated master schedule to assist in generation of program metrics

• Set goals, track deliverables, identify risk and drive mitigation across all stages, including developing tactical execution rhythm and tools

• Own execution and completion of multiple projects in parallel

• Identify resource requirements and highlight gaps across various stages for all projects

• Lead coordination with other TPMs to generate report-outs for all projects, highlighting status, risks, mitigations, and opportunities across all levels of management

• Manage roadmap of projects working within the framework of the overall company objectives

• Lead process development for configuration management, digital enterprise integration, and program metric generation and tracking

• Serve as a liaison for Otto Aviation with the contracting entity which involves responsibility for establishing and nurturing the relationship

• Guide commercial and programmatic strategic discussions and decisions

• Other duties as assigned to support the PMO and Otto Aviation strategic initiatives

Education and Experience

‍

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems or Software Engineering or other related field

• A minimum of five (5) years in technical program/project management role, preferably in the aviation industry; a minimum of eight (8) years of total experience

• Previous engineering experience with a deep understanding of product development & qualification

• Project management experience in complex hardware/software and aircraft systems development & qualification is preferred

• Project management experience with composite material system development and structural design & qualification is preferred

• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management and Configuration Management

• Working understanding of Earned Value Management Systems is preferred

• Experience with MS Project, Doors, Jira and/or other project management tools

• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing standard processes

• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills

• Ability to work cross‐functionally, build relationships, and manage conflict

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proactive delivery of communication and follow up

• Ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints

• Demonstrated agility and autonomous decision-making within ambiguous situations

• Experience with Dassault 3DX is preferred

• Must be able to move around for extended periods of time to engage cross-functionally.

• Must be able to sit at desk for prolonged periods of time and work on computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
